Five dimensions of rupture: how to navigate the acute experience of migration

Migration, often referred to today as relocation, remains one of the most tectonic events in a person's life. But what exactly does it disrupt? It is not just about daily routine and social ties. Something that usually remains nameless is deeply affected: the sense of one's place in the world, the body's memory of a familiar space, the opportunity to talk about oneself without lengthy prefaces, the feeling of being seen as a human being rather than a category.
On July 4, Aleksey Beloglazov will present a special report on working with clients going through the experience of displacement. At the center of the meeting is not a diagnosis, but attention: how to hear what has actually cracked behind the complaint.

Five dimensions that migration disrupts most deeply: place, embodiment, belonging, meaning, and freedom. This lens helps the therapist translate a vague complaint into a concrete rupture, which has its own logic and its own point of support for work.
Why "migration" is broader than crossing a border. Internal emigration, reverse migration, and the generational gap turn out to be forms of the same structure, and a client with such an experience may sit before us without ever calling themselves a migrant.
A state, not a pathology. Post-migration collapse does not require immediate translation into diagnosis and treatment: first, it is important to see it and name it. Philosophical attention stands alongside therapy and integration support, not instead of them.
The report is aimed at practicing therapists and counselors.
