Biography

Before 2019, I worked for 15 years as a manager in large IT companies and spent 10 years in private business, including hiring, team and company development, corporate client consulting, and teaching organizational psychology. My education during this period reflected this direction: a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics from Riga Technical University, where I studied computational methods, followed by a Master's in Human Resource Management and Organizational Psychology from the Baltic International Academy.

My journey into existential psychotherapy coincided with the end of this managerial period. I realized the personal need for a deeper, existential perspective not only on organizational processes but especially on human existence in its entirety. This turn led my professional focus to individual psychology, which is not based on typologies but on an existential-phenomenological attitude. I studied at the Moscow Institute of Psychoanalysis, earning Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Psychology, and obtained a qualification as an existential psychotherapist at the Institute of Existential and Humanistic Psychology (HEPI). Currently, I continue my professional development in two programs for philosophical counseling — at a program by Tomas Sodeika at HEPI and a Master's program at West University of Timisoara.

Since 2019, I have been running a private practice, working in-person in Riga and Barcelona, as well as online worldwide in Russian, Latvian, and English. My professional practice is built on an existential-phenomenological stance; I integrate other methods when necessary. In my work, I pay special attention to maintaining openness to the diversity and uniqueness of people, their perspectives, and the expectations from our collaboration.

I am convinced that in the practice of existential therapy, it is essential to consider both the personal biases and limitations of one's professional beliefs, as well as the internal diversity of the existential approach itself, influenced by the various philosophical and theoretical foundations of different schools. Sticking to a collaborative principle, I explore the client’s immediate experience in relation to their worldview, allowing them the right to determine and review the goals and methods of our work.

Beyond therapeutic practice, I actively participate in the development of the professional community. I translate literature on philosophical counseling and existential therapy, striving to make significant texts accessible to colleagues and the broader audience. I am also a co-founder of the publishing house Uberbau and its specialized project Tiefbau, which focus on the publication of significant works in philosophy and psychology.

For several years, I volunteered and was an activist with the first Latvian hospice, where I led support groups for relatives of seriously ill patients and organized meetings in the
