Sergey Babin: "Existential therapy in borderline personality organization"

Case analysis and discussion of the core principles of therapeutic work with clients exhibiting borderline organization.
The meeting is held online via the Zoom platform.
Each participant receives the opportunity to
learn key concepts and therapeutic strategies of the existential approach when working with personality borderline organization,
ask questions and get feedback from one of Russia's leading experts,
submit their case for supervision (only one case will be selected and analyzed; priority given to Alliance members).
Meeting format
The meeting will be held on April 17, 2026 (Friday) from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM (Moscow time) online via the Zoom platform.
3:00 PM–4:00 PM — Presentation "The existential approach in working with personality borderline organization".
4:00 PM–5:00 PM — Supervision (anonymous analysis of an actual case).
During the supervision, diagnostic features, therapeutic techniques, emerging difficulties, strategies for working with resistance, and possible variants for ending or continuing therapy will be discussed. Listeners will be able to ask questions.
The theoretical part of the meeting will be recorded and available to listeners. Supervision will not be recorded.

Sergey Mikhaylovich Babin — president of the Russian Psychotherapeutic Association (RPA), Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Psychotherapy, Medical Psychology, and Sexology at the North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov.
Board member of the East-European Association for Existential Therapy (EEAET), actively involved in the development and promotion of the existential approach in Russia and Eastern European countries.
Scientific Director of the Training Center named after N.P. Bekhterev and one of the key leaders of the professional retraining program "Existential Psychotherapy and Counseling" — one of the most authoritative and comprehensive long-term programs in existential therapy in Russia.
Author of monographs "Psychotherapy of Psychosis. Practical Guide" (2012), "Psychosocial Treatment and Rehabilitation within the Psychiatric Care System" (2021), co-author of the national guide "Psychotherapy" edited by A.V. Vasileva, T.A. Karavaeva, N.G. Neznanova (2023) and more than 100 scientific publications.
Disciple of B.D. Karvasarsky, recognized specialist in existential and psychodynamic therapy, psychotherapy of psychosis, and supervision.
